The updated 13.6-inch MacBook Air will be available for pre-order from Friday(2022, July 8), with the first units delivering on July 15. 2022 13.3" MacBook Pro was released last month and will be the second MacBook model to utilize Apple's new M2 processor.

"Supercharged by the M2 chip, the all-new MacBook Air features even more performance and a new skinny design, a larger 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a four-speaker sound system, up to 18 hours of battery life, and MagSafe charging," Apple. [1]

The new 13.6-inch Macbook Air's design, which features rounded corners and a camera notch, is influenced by the 14" and 16" MacBook Pro models that Apple unveiled last year. In addition, the beloved MagSafe charging port is back on this new MacBook Air, which also maintains the fanless design and frees up the two Thunderbolt ports.

Apple's new M2 processor features a more powerful 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU inside. Additionally, the device supports up to 24GB of unified memory at a bandwidth of 100GB/s. A new 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a three-mic array, and a four-speaker audio system are also included in this updated MacBook Air.

The M2 MacBook Air from Apple will be offered in midnight, starlight, silver, and space gray finishes, with prices starting at $1,199 in the US ($1,099 for students). A 15-inch MacBook Air is also developing and could be delivered next year. However, it might use the next Apple M3 chip rather than the recently revealed M2 chip.
